DOMAIN INTEL

Domain Intelligence

Query RDAP in real-time. Capture registrar, status, nameservers, registration and expiry windows—ideal for domain hygiene and acquisition research.

What is a Domain Insights?

A domain lookup pulls public WHOIS and DNS records for any domain name. You get the registrar, registration and expiry dates, name servers, and the IP address the domain currently points to. SEOs use it to vet competitor domains and backlink sources, marketers use it to confirm a brand owns its own domain, and IT teams use it to debug DNS or check who to contact about a site.

How to use this Domain Insights

  1. 1

    Enter the domain

Type the bare domain like example.com. Skip the https:// and the www, the lookup adds what it needs.

  2. 2

    Run the lookup

The tool queries public WHOIS and live DNS in parallel and returns results in a few seconds.

  3. 3

    Review ownership and dates

Check the registrar, creation date, and expiry. A recent creation date or imminent expiry is useful context for outreach and link audits.

  4. 4

    Check DNS and hosting

Look at the A, MX, and NS records to see where the site is hosted, where email is routed, and which DNS provider manages the zone.

  5. 5

    Save or share the result

Copy the relevant lines into your notes, ticket, or audit doc. The data is public, so it is safe to share with clients or teammates.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the registrant name and email hidden?

Most registrars redact personal contact details under GDPR and ICANN privacy rules. You can still see the registrar, dates, and name servers, which is usually enough for SEO or IT work.

How accurate is the WHOIS expiry date?

It reflects the current registration period reported by the registry. Owners often auto-renew, so an upcoming expiry does not always mean the domain will drop.

Can I look up any TLD?

Most common TLDs are supported including .com, .ca, .org, .io, and country codes. A few registries restrict public WHOIS, in which case you will see partial data or a referral to the registry.

What is the difference between WHOIS and DNS records?

WHOIS shows who registered the domain and when. DNS records show where the domain currently points, such as the hosting IP, mail server, and name servers. The two can disagree if the domain was recently transferred or repointed.

Is this domain checker free?

Yes. The lookup is free, has no sign-up, and pulls only public information.
